Ask anyone in the Beauty Bay office who their celebrity #skingoals is and we can guarantee the answer will be Beyonce. We haven’t seen a single pic of her complexion looking anything but flawless – smooth, radiant, and not a blemish in sight, her makeup is always perfectly blended and never cakey.
Which is why when we found out exactly what her makeup artist (Sir John) does to achieve Queen Bey’s ultimate dewiness, we couldn’t wait to try it out for ourselves.

What's the technique?
For Sir John, the trick is all about melding your moisturiser and makeup together, and it makes such a difference. Applying foundation onto skin that’s too dry will cause a “disconnect between how the foundation cements onto your complexion” he notes – and we’re listening, Sir John really knows his stuff…
1. Apply a rich, water-based moisturiser to skin (we recommend MUA-approved Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre).
2. While your moisturiser is still wet, use a damp Beautyblender to apply your foundation.
3. Once you’ve applied the rest of your makeup, mix a few drops of a liquid highlighter (the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops work perfectly) with a small amount of moisturiser and use a Beautyblender to apply it everywhere except the T-zone.
