A 6-Step Hydrating PM Skincare Routine with Clinique

If your skin is prone to dryness and dehydration, you’ll know that it takes more than just one product to get your skin back on track when tight, flaky skin kicks in. A skincare routine where every product is designed to replenish moisture levels and rehydrate skin is what you’ll need to restore skin to a smooth, healthy state. It sounds obvious, but make sure that you’re using a cleanser that’s formulated with dry skin in mind, and give some extra TLC to dryness-prone areas like your eyes and lips.

Clinique’s dermatologist-developed products are perfect for developing a routine that has visible and lasting results. Here are our recommendations for the products to use and the order to apply them in.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Clinique’s Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm works hard to remove oil, dirt, makeup, and SPF from skin without stripping moisture. Start by removing a coin-sized amount of cleansing balm from the jar and warm it between your fingers until you feel the balm start to melt. Begin massaging it over dry skin in small circular motions for several minutes – don’t forget your neck and eye area. Soak a muslin cloth in warm water then wring dry and gently wipe the cleanser from your skin.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild

To ensure all residue is removed from skin, follow up with a second cleanse. Clinique’s Liquid Facial Soap Mild is a refreshing, gel-textured cleanser which is perfect for targeting any remaining traces of dirt while getting deep into pores to remove dead skin cells and deep-rooted impurities. Because it’s designed with dry skin in mind, the formula works to protect skin’s natural moisture balance, so it doesn’t feel tight or dry.

Clarifying Lotion 2

To give your skin a gentle exfoliation, soak a cotton pad in Clarifying Lotion 2 – a gentle witch hazel and glycerin solution – and sweep it over skin to remove dead skin cells, pollution, and grime. This will also help to prep skin for your moisturiser, since exfoliated skin is more receptive to hydrating ingredients.

Clinique Moisture Surge 100 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

Apply your moisturiser while your skin is still damp to help trap the moisture for longer-lasting hydration. Clinique’s Moisture Surge™ 100 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator is a weightless gel cream which melts into skin, deeply hydrating thanks to aloe bio-ferment, hyaluronic acid, and an auto-replenishing technology which helps to support skin’s own hydration system.

Clinique Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate

Your eye area has some of the thinnest and delicate skin on your face, so it’s very prone to dryness and needs some dedicated moisture to keep the skin smooth and plump. Clinique’s Moisture Surge Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate is a lightweight gel formula which replenishes and plumps skin with moisture, instantly tightening and brightening. Use your ring fingers to apply and gently tap it on to avoid tugging skin.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

For an intensive hydration boost or if your skin is feeling particularly dry or dehydrated, replace your moisturiser with Clinique’s Moisture Surge Overnight Mask once or twice a week. This hardworking formula creates an invisible ‘net’ over skin to help hold in moisture which helps to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and prevent water loss.

Clinique Moisture Surge Lip Hydro-Plump Treatment

Finish by hydrating your lips with Clinique’s Moisture Surge Lip Hydro-Plump Treatment – another area of the face where the skin is easily prone to dryness. This lightweight, non-greasy balm instantly comforts sore, chapped lips and provides intensive, plumping hydration which results in soft, supple lips.
