My hair gets greasy really fast. How can I keep it cleaner for longer?
Oils are produced on the scalp and distributed throughout hair to keep it healthy and shiny – if there’s an excess of oils, this causes it to look greasy and leads to buildup. So, to solve the issue you need to get right to the root of the problem – the scalp. Try cutting down the amount of products you see and the frequency that you wash your hair – over-washing causes it to overproduce oil. You could also start using Briogeo’s Scalp Revival Treatment, which breaks down buildup of products and helps to purify the pores on your scalps, removing excess oils.
I struggle to get volume in my hair – it always falls flat, no matter what products I use. Can you give me some tips?
There are loads of great volumising products out there, but it’s the techniques you use when styling your hair that make the difference when it comes to volume. The best time to add volume to your hair is while you’re drying it – flip your hair upside down and loosely blowdry the roots to add some initial volume, then take a round brush like one of T3’s Volume Brushes and run through sections of your hair from mid-length to ends with the blowdryer following the brush.
I’m guilty of overusing heat tools on my hair and it’s really damaged. How can I rescue it?
The high levels of heat you apply to hair during straightening, curling, and blow-drying can cause severe trauma to hair, dehydrating it and damaging the proteins that keep each strand strong. Try to limit the time you use heat tools for and let your hair air dry for 20 minutes before blow-drying. The get serious with your haircare. Invest in a hydration mask like Coco & Eve Like A Virgin Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque which combines hydrating and strengthening ingredients together to nourish and restore damaged hair. For best results, leave in overnight and wash out in the morning.
Ever since I first dyed my hair blonde it’s been dry and frizzy. How can I improve its texture?
When you dye your hair, it makes your hair more porous – which means it loses moisture speedily and starts to feel brittle and dry. But however frizzy and straw-like your hair may look and feel, there is hope. As well as using a hydrating hair mask (like the above), you should invest in a nourishing shampoo like Shea Moisture Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame Shampoo. Unlike most shampoos, this is as gentle and hydrating as a conditioner, which means it gives your hair a much-needed hydration hit, all whilst cleaning it.
How can I make my hair grow faster?
Since hair is technically dead fibre, it’s essential to look after your scalp if you want your hair to grow longer and thicker or are experiencing hair loss. Improving scalp condition is the foundation to achieving healthy hair – and the healthier hair is, the faster it grows. The Ordinary’s Multi-Peptide Serum For Hair Density contains a blend of ingredients that increase blood flow to the scalp, which not only keeps it in optimum healthy but also stimulates hair growth.
