Every day is Lip Appreciation Day to me but I understand it’s not everyone’s main priority. As nothing makes me more uncomfortable or conscious than when my lips are cracking and peeling, I scrub, lather and colour all year round. Here to educate the masses on this VERY important day I want to bring you some of my favourite lip-perfecting tools that are also on offer (what a glorious Friday!).
If you’re terrified of needles like me, Fillerina’s Lip Volume Dermo Cosmetics Filler Grade 1 is the ultimate way of faking that filler. With a rollerball applicator – which I can totally handle (muscly arm emoji here) I first started using it in the build up to a big event and I just loved it! An added bonus, that I thankfully don’t need toooo much yet, is the way it completely smooths fine lines all around the mouth. Like a little porcelain doll, I have a perfect natural-looking pout and silky-smooth skin with regular rolling of course!
For more instant results, Nubyen’s Nude Lip Augmentation Gloss is the best for prepping and putting in your handbag. It’s the tingly kind, which I kind of love in a weird way and not only does it visibly plump, but it also leaves a really nice glossy finish that looks equally amazing on its own as it does over lipstick.
A staple in my evening beauty routine, Jeffree Star Cosmetics’ Velour Lip Scrub (in any of the flavours honestly, but Spearmint is my current) works wonders on your lips. I use it nightly before smothering in balm and I still haven’t got my head around how something so gentle can exfoliate so much?! It ensures no matter what mood I wake up in the next morning, my lips are ready for whatever I’m about to cover them in. A weirdly satisfying plus…the spearmint flavour goes wonderfully with my just brushed teeth!
I’m pretty sure we’ve all had at least one eos product, I have no words if you haven’t quite honestly…but I suppose now is as good a time as any! Especially when I’m about to rant and rave about how unbelievably soft their Visibly Soft Coconut Milk Lip Balm is! My go-to for long work days or slobbing on the couch, I always have something on my lips and this is a dream for prepping and smoothing.
I don’t normally wear any kind of nude lipstick. I’m very fair and pale so bold, bright colours are all that fill my makeup bag. Whenever I get money off something however, I take it as a sign to overhaul my traditions and try something new. Looking for a good place to start, a few girls in the office swore by Dose Of Colors Matte Lipstick in Truffle, so I trusted their opinions and today is my first day wearing it. I must say it doesn’t wash me out in the least and it’s not drying on my lips – I’ve even brought it with me to reapply!
A little contradictory, but even though I never wear nude lipsticks, nude lipliner is all I wear. They’re perfect for wearing with every colour in the world and are so forgiving if you go a little over the lines! The thing I love the most about Jordana’s Easyliner compared to most is that you don’t have to sharpen it (lazy me’s dream!) and the actual product is SO super creamy.
