Founded by two best friends working on a department store beauty counter (who also double as celebrity makeup artists for the likes of Rihanna and Iggy Azalea), it’s safe to say that Melt is 100% MUA-approved.
From its magnetic stackable eyeshadows and sell-out liquid lipsticks to its blinding highlighters, the brand has well and truly taken Instagram by storm.
Here’s everything you need to know (and buy).
Digital Dust Highlighters
You barely need to touch this butter-soft highlighter with your finger for the creamy, metallic pigments to coat your skin in a wash of gold for a liquid/molten effect. If you like your highlighter to be ‘blinding’, you’re going to want to scoop this one up.
Eyeshadow Stack Rust
Thanks to their uber-innovative packaging, it’s for these magnetic, stackable eyeshadow palettes that Melt are most well-known. The Rust Stack is a bestseller – it’s a dreamy mix of burnt reds and earthy browns, a must-have for autumn.
The brand started out by creating bold, pigmented lipsticks in a full spectrum of colours – they were one of the first to release blues, purples, and orange alongside pinks and reds. These colours are fairly common now but Melt definitely helped to pioneer the trend. Our favourite thing about the formula is that it’s surprisingly smudge-resistant.
Liquid Set Lipsticks
Still on the hunt for a liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry out your lips or flake off? Melt is renowned for its ‘comfortable’ liquid lipstick formula – which is as light and hydrating as it is bold and pigmented. Luxury for your lips, these long-wearing matte shades are total gamechangers.
Lipsticks in a full variety of colours is one thing, but very few brands do lip liners to match… From green and grey to purple and black (and of course, the obvious nudes and browns), Melt’s offering has every base covered. The pigment and formula is incredible – they’re so creamy that (in a pinch) you can apply them all over.
Unlike traditional pencil eyeliners, Melt’s eye pencils have a creamy texture which allows you to easily line your eyes and blend the pigment out for a diffused, smoky effect. They come in a number of rich, matte, metallic, and foil formulas and a full spectrum of shades, including a mesmerisingly bright cobalt blue.
