Our teeth naturally become more yellow as we age, and most foods we eat daily (plus that Starbucks addiction!) stain our teeth – despite diligent brushing and sipping through straws…
In a society that is a little obsessed with having pearly white teeth, it looks like Karlie Kloss and Kendall Jenner were born with camera-ready smiles, but the truth is they shell serious dollar on cosmetic dentistry.
Fortunately, there’s a whole host of at-home options that make whitening and brightening your teeth easier and cheaper than ever – and you can skip the dentist’s office entirely, thanks to Mr Blanc’s new Teeth Whitening Kit. The compact mouth-guard coats the teeth in whitening gel while UV technology speeds up the brightening process to ensure that results are delivered every time.
How do you use it?
Simply apply the teeth whitening gel to the mouth-guard; then attach the guard to the light, place it in your mouth, bite down, and power on the safe UV light to blast away stains. Sit and chill – after 30 minutes the light will turn off – remove the mouth guard and rinse both the guard and your mouth with water, then repeat the process daily until the gel has run out (it should last 15 days).
How does it work?
Mimicking the technology used in a dentist’s office, the kit uses UV light to speed up the efficacy of the ingredients in the teeth whitening gel. The light drives the gel into the skin and activates the hydrogen and oxygen molecules inside which triggers a deep cleansing action that removes stains and discolouration.
How is it different to other teeth whitening kits?
The enamel-safe formula used is free from peroxide, which means it’s safer to use as it’s less harsh on your teeth and won’t cause sensitivity. What’s more, unlike some whitening treatments, the gel has a pleasant taste, and is mess-free – thanks to clear instructions.
The big question – does it work??
My teeth weren’t super yellow to begin with (I’m pretty vigilant with my dental care), but – like most people – I wanted to bring them a few shades lighter, since I have no intention of kicking my morning coffee habit anytime soon… As a first timer, I was admittedly very sceptical, but having done my research, and putting my faith in the smart science behind the technology, I was keen to try anything with claims of whitening teeth in a matter of days. Granted, spending 30 minutes every evening with a UV light in my mouth wasn’t exactly my idea of fun, but after a fortnight of continued use, the results are more than noticeable. It sounds tedious, but the results are worth it – use it while catching up on the latest episode of Riverdale, and you’ll be well on your way to an A-list-worthy smile before the season ends.
