If you’ve been coming to BEAUTY BAY to satisfy your beauty obsession for a while, then you’ll know that we’re the place for getting ahead of the trends, for seeing what’s the latest and greatest in beauty, and what’s the next big thing to add to your haul.

Now we’ve well and truly entered a new season, it means a whole new load of trends. If you want to know what’s hot, then keep reading to find out what’s made it onto our list of winter beauty trends.

DermTok

We have well and truly entered the TikTok era. Moving on from just viral dances to help get us through the lockdowns, TikTok has turned into the place where we go for anything and everything, including all our beauty trends. If you’re looking for all the best skincare tips and tricks, then DermTok is the go-to. Featuring short videos from qualified dermatologists, DermTok breaks down the viral hacks and tells us what’s worth doing and what we should avoid. CeraVe are a firm favourite in the derm community, so make sure you add them to your haul. Get ready to enter your TikTok wormhole.

Finger wave hair

After a quiet start to the decade, we’re hoping that we’re headed for the roaring 20s 2.0. We’re still obsessing over the trends from 100 years ago and finger wave hair is one of the faves. If you want to get this 1920s look, then you’re going to need all the products – for getting those ultra-sharp waves, pick up the Cantu Extra Gold Edge Stay Gel and the Edges Baby Hair Styler and they’ll stay in place all day long.

Ceramide skincare

If your skin freaks out during the colder months, then ceramides are your friend. The hero ingredient to help hydrate and repair, as well as strengthen the skin barrier, ceramides will leave your skin feeling more comfortable. If you’re looking for a thick cream that’s like a hug for your face, then the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream is the one. If you’re after something a little lighter, then the Holika Holika Good Cera Super Ceramide Toner will add a boost of goodness, without feeling like too much.

Switch up your routine

Chances are, your skincare routine is going to need a switch up when the temperature drops. If your skin gets drier, lips get chapped, and everything just feels a little off kilter, then it’s time to get a new skincare haul together. For all the tips on changing our routine for winter, we asked our beauty editor, Grace and you can find all her answers right here.

Grunge but make it glam

Grunge has been around for a while, but to make it festive season appropriate, we’ve turned it glam. Think a more-refined version of grunge, with a glitter element if you feel like it. For all the products to get the look, haul it here.

OTT

Last Christmas was a write off, so this year, we’re making up for lost time. Glitter, face gems, pearls, hair slides, we want it all – more is more after all! Need some inspo? Then check out our festive kitsch step-by-step and create a look that’s worthy of a party this season.

Tomato red lips

We love a classic red lip, but why not give it a 2021 update? The trending tomato-red, orange-toned shade is the one for us this year and it looks so good with every kind of look. Our By BEAUTY BAY Matte Lipstick in Juice is the perfect shade to nail the trend.

Blur the lines

Say bye to harsh lines, our blush, eyeshadow, highlight, and everything else is blown out this year. Take your eyeshadow right up to the brow, your blush high on the temples, and apply highlight basically everywhere. Fluffy brushes are you friends for this, so get stocked up.

Beehive hair

You heard it here first, the beehive is back and there’s no better time to try it than during party season. Get your hair spray, get your comb, and get backcombing!

Colour blocking

We love a quick-win when it comes to makeup, so colour blocking is going straight onto our list of trends to try out. The key here is one shade, blocked out across the lids. If you’re feeling brave, go for a bright, or if you’re looking for something softer, pick a warm-toned, shimmering gold.
