I Tried Zoeva’s New Authentik Skin Range And Here’s My Verdict

Searching for the perfect complexion products can sometimes feel like a never-ending task. As soon as you find a foundation you’re obsessed with, you fall out of love with your concealer. And that trusty powder you’ve used for years? It’s just not cutting it anymore. My makeup bag features a constant rotation of beauty products (the joys of being beauty obsessed), but few base products have failed to really impress me and become a long-term staple in my routine. So when the ZOEVA Authentik Skin range arrived at my door, I couldn’t wait to try it out.

Making some of the most iconic brushes that you’ll find in any makeup bag, ZOEVA have recently ventured into the complexion makeup world with their Authentik Skin range. The range is all about makeup that is authentically you and shows your true self, and features a foundation, concealer, and recently released setting powder. So, with my favourite ZOEVA brushes in hand, I wore a full-face of Authentik Skin for the day and here are my honest thoughts…

Authentik Skin Foundation

First up, the Authentik Skin Foundation. I’ve heard many good things about this complexion product, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed when I tried it for myself. The coverage is medium, matte, yet still luminous – I like to wear a glowy primer on my skin and this foundation still let that radiance shine through. I applied using the 104 Buffer Brush which is perfect for this foundation – it makes a little go such a long way! The texture felt nice on the skin, not too heavy, and the finish was breathable but still had a good amount of coverage (for days when I feel like a little less coverage, I might sheer out with a primer or moisturiser and use the 102 Silk Finish Brush – my all time fave). I tend to get quite oily during the day, so was interested to see how this foundation played out and it lasted so well. There was no patchiness, caking, or transferring which is exactly what I need and haven’t been able to get. All in all, I’m sold and can’t wait to be able to go out again just to show off my flawless skin.

Zoeva Authentik Skin Perfector

I’m usually quite picky when it comes to concealer as I suffer with blemishes and acne scars, which can be difficult to cover without concealer going cakey or looking un-natural. This creamy, soft concealer is just what I needed to find. When buffed into the skin, this concealer made quick work of hiding my dark circles, breakouts, and discolouration, whilst still keeping a smooth, natural finish that looks like skin. Similar to the foundation, it isn’t the highest coverage concealer I’ve tried (but that works for me), the finish is radiant, rather than super matte, and it lasted all day even though it’s warmer weather, which is one of my biggest tests. I used the 142 Concealer Buffer to buff the product into the skin which I love – its creates a seamless finish and can also be used to pat concealer onto areas where you want a little more coverage.

Last up was the newbie in the Authentik Skin collection – the Finishing Powder, my favourite of the three. As a rule, I try to avoid loose powders because they can be so messy and get everywhere, but this compact looks and feels super luxurious and the lid is designed keep the powder from spilling out. I chose the shades Dazzling, a brightening shade, and Outstanding, a light shade and the powder itself really suits my skin. I have quite oily skin (especially as the day goes on) but I still like a glow and don’t want to look completely matte. When applied with the 134 Luxe Powder Fushion Brush (the perfect fluffy brush for precise application), the Dazzling powder set my under eyes perfectly, without looking ashy or creasing. The 108 Face Finish Brush covered large areas like my forehead quickly and was perfect for touch ups if I felt like it. The powder lasted so well and definitely controlled my oiliness without caking, looking dry, or hiding the radiance of the foundation, and my makeup lasted all day without any need for touch-ups.
