17 Products Our Beauty Editor Buys On Repeat

If you want to know which beauty products are really worth paying for, ask a beauty editor. Since we try the hundreds of new products that launch every year, we know what’s good and what’s not. And if a product is so good that we not only completely finish it, but also purchase it again, then it really does have our seal of approval.

From the best moisturiser for treating dry skin to the perfume that everyone compliments me on, these are the best beauty products on BEAUTY BAY, according to a beauty editor.

1. COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin

I always say that hydrated skin is healthy skin, and no matter what your skin type or concerns, you can always benefit from adding hydrating products and ingredients to your skincare routine. This is one of my favourite products to recommend to people who are showing signs of dehydrated skin – it’s like a glass of water for skin, instantly quenching skin’s thirst. Part way between a toner and a serum, the silky texture is refreshing and cooling, and will also help to heal damaged and inflamed skin as well.

2. Ultra Violette Skin Tint

I don’t know anyone who wears full coverage foundations any more – lightweight skin tints and tinted moisturisers are where it’s at. They’re the best way to give skin a glowy and even finish without looking thick or cakey – and they still help to cover breakouts and redness. I love this formula because it’s really natural so keeps skin looking like skin, and not like it’s got a mask on it. It gives great glow, is really hydrating, and has the added bonus of SFP50.

3. Olaplex No.3

Olaplex gets a lot of well-deserved hype, but there’s also a lot of misinformation about it out there. The thing is, it only works if your hair is actually damaged, so if your hair is healthy, and hasn’t suffered from being coloured, chemically-treated, or excessively heat styled, then you won’t really see any benefit. This stuff works by repairing broken bonds in hair. I love using it after a balayage top up because it helps to reduce the change in texture I notice when my hair is lightened.

4. Aesop Eidesis

Although this is certainly not a loud or bold fragrance, I always get compliments when I wear it. It’s warm and sweet so smells really cosy and comforting, naturally enhancing your own unique scent.

5. Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 68 Perfume Mist

This body mist smells just like a certain very popular and very expensive perfume… A warm, fruity gourmand, it’s perfect for summer. Unlike most body mists I find it really long-lasting, and I love pairing it with the matching body lotion to boost the scent.

6. Starface Hydro-Stars

Spot stickers are a total lifesaver – not only do they help to draw congestion out of a clogged pore, but they also prevent bacteria from getting into the breakout and making it worse, and they stop you from picking or popping your spots. I love these ones because they always stay in place.

7. Nudestix Nudies Bronze

Nudestix’s cream blushers and bronzers are so easy to apply – they totally revolutionised the makeup game by creating products that are effortless to use, no matter your skill level. I particularly love the bronzers, which are perfect for both contouring and for adding warmth to skin. Just dot them onto cheeks and use your fingertips (or the enclosed brush) to blend.

8. Coco Cosmetics Marshmallow Sponge

When it comes to applying base makeup, I always prefer using a spong to a brush. I find it results in a much more skin-like, natural finish. Plus, you don’t get any stray hairs or unwanted brush marks. The Coco Cosmetics ones are my favourite. No matter what formula I use, they always blend it flawlessly, and they’re so easy to clean.

9. Dermalogica PreCleanse

This is such an iconic cleanser. It’s been around for years but has tonnes of loyal fans and is one of my all-time favourites. It not only breaks down and melts away makeup, but will literally remove the congestion from blocked pores and blackheads right in front of your eyes.

10. Bondi Sands Hydra UV SPF50 Face Fluid

Sunscreens have always had a bad rep for being thick, chalky, greasy, and leaving a white cast on skin. However in the past few years formulas have really improved and innovated, and now there are plenty of skin-friendly SPFs that won’t dry out skin, clog pores, or leave visible residue. This is one of my favourites to recommend because it’s so affordable.

11. Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream Mist

This is basically a face serum in mist form – it’s incredible for dry skin. The key ingredient, ceramides, are an incredible ingredient because they reinfornce the skin’s natural barrier, helping to prevent dehydration and to keep skin feeling smooth and soft. I love applying this under my serums and creams as an initial layer of moisture.

12. St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Face Mist

This is one of the few face tans that doesn’t break me out (I have acne-prone skin). I can spray it on every single night to keep my glow boosted and without having to worry about it clogging pores, streaking, or leaving patches in my hairline.

13. By BEAUTY BAY Rich Moisturiser

Because I try so many products out, I occasionally have to deal with my skin reacting to too many active ingredients, which means it feels sensitive, looks red, and can occasionally lead to an outbreak of perioral dermatitis. This soothing cream is amazing for cooling and calming redness and inflammation, and quickly restoring skin health, so I always have a tub to hand. It’s great for eczema and rosacea too.

14. Floral Street Arizona Bloom

This perfume smells way more expensive than it actually is. It’s a warm and summery scent with notes of jasmine and musk that really linger on skin.

15. Peace Out Pore Strips

I would never use regular pore strips, which can be really damaging and are not really that effective. These are totally different because it’s not the stripping action you’re relying on – they’re made from hydrocolloid which basically absorbs the gunk and congestion from your pores. Leave them on overnight and when you peel them off in the morning they’ll be full of sebum and dead skin buildup.

16. Megababe Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant

Deodorant isn’t necessarily the most fun and glamorous product to use and recommend, but a good one is so hard to find that it’s always worth shouting about when you come across one. I love this because it’s not only really hardworking and effective, but also because it’s got a serum-like texture which is really light and soothing, and doesn’t leave any unwanted residue.

17. Naked Sundays Collagen Glow SPF50

This is another really innovative sunscreen formula. It has a slight tint which really helps to reduce redness and even out skin tone, so I usually wear it alone on no-makeup days. It gives a really fresh, healthy glow to skin, and also doubles up as a makeup primer.
