Imagine if you could just pop a sticker onto a spot and reduce the blemish size, prevent scarring, and speed up the healing process, overnight. Well, it turns out you can, because it’s 2018 and anything is possible – including (thanks to Yes To), spot stickers.
They sound gimmicky, but like most trending skincare innovations, spot stickers originated in Korea and they work wonders – as well as treating the blemish, they create a barrier that prevents bacteria from spreading and stops you from picking the breakout (c’mon, we’re all guilty).
How do they work?
New to Yes To, the Blemish Fighting Zit Zapping Dots work by delivering active ingredients like salicylic acid to spots to bring down inflammation and fight larger and inflamed breakouts right from the source. They also contain tomato (which has anti-inflammatory benefits and is amazing for healing damaged skin and acne), and charcoal, which draws impurities out of the skin and acts as an anti-bacterial. The stickers come in two colours – red, which has higher quantities of tomato extract, and black, which contains more charcoal.
If you have spot-prone skin you’re in for a treat – they’re antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and they speed up the recovery time of whiteheads and those sore, under-the-skin bumps in an instant.
How do you use them?
1. Do you normal evening skincare routine before bed (including cleansing and moisturising).
2. Source the spot and ensure that it (and the area around it) is clean and dry..
3. Peel off a sticker and gently press over the spot, covering completely.
4. Carefully press around the edges to make sure that it sticks.
5. Keep in place for 8-10 hours, then remove gently and discard.
Beauty Editor's Verdict
“Like most people, I have a long history with breakouts. I struggled with acne in my teens but nowadays my skin breaks out much less often. The only problem is that when I get a breakout now, it’s a big one, which usually appears out of nowhere, turns bright red, and sits slap bang in the middle of my face. Ugh. I’ve used some great spot treatments, but I have to say that these stickers are one of the best things to happen to my face. For me, the greatest thing about them is that they stay on my skin way better than creams or gels (which easily transfer onto my pillow), so the treatment can actually work all night long. When I wake up and peel the sticker off in the morning, it’s like the breakout wasn’t even there.” – Grace
