HOT WATER BOTTLES CAN CAUSE BURNS AVOID PROLONGED DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE SKIN.

Hot water bottles must never be used as cushions or be sat on. Prevent contact with hot surfaces. Prevent contact with grease or oil. Check the entire hot water bottle including the stopper for any signs of wear or damage before use. Bottles should be replaced every 2 years. When not in use, drain completely and keep, with the stopper removed, in a cool, dry, dark place. Prevent exposure to sunlight. Do not place anything on top of a hot water bottle whilst in storage. Hot water bottles are not suitable for use with infants or persons insensitive to heat. It is strongly recommended that children are supervised when using hot water bottles.

Hold the hot water bottle by the neck in an upright position and fill slowly to avoid hot water splashing back. Expel air by lowering carefully onto a flat surface until water appears at the opening. Screw the stopper sufficiently tight, in practice finger tight should be adequate. Finally make sure the funnel is empty. DO NOT USE BOILING WATER AND FILL TO A MAXIMUM OF TWO- THIRDS CAPACITY OR LESS. Do not overfill bottle as this may cause it to burst. Adequate cover is required if there is possibility of extended contact of hot water bottle with skin when filling.
