Gradual Tan Lotion
200ml
Description
A hydrating gradual tanning lotion.
If healthy, soft, sunkissed skin is your dream, then you need the Tanologist Gradual Tan Lotion. This super hydrating, mess-free lotion smooths over the skin and gradually develops into a soft, natural tan. The non-comedogenic formula is enriched with pink grapefruit, goji berry, and juniper to soften and smooth the skin, whilst the fresh eucalyptus scent hides that classic ‘fake tan’ smell. Reapply as needed to build the colour or mix with the Self-Tan Drops for a more intense tan.

Gradual???
Oh dear perhaps my fault but not gradual at all! Woke up very Orange and very patchy
Itchy, patchy, deep tone. Moisturise first!
I was really looking forward to trying this cruelty free, vegan gradual tanning lotion but oh my gosh it really let me down. Firstly, it says to use in place of your normal moisturiser and exfoliate the night before, both of which I did. But in doing that it left much darker patches on my knees, wrists, elbows and ankles all of which aren't dry, I have very soft skin, even more so after exfoliating. Then it stated to wash hands thoroughly, as all tanning lotions do, which I also did with soap and water and a nail brush, again as I always do. Although the tan didn't develop on my nails or upper hand it's completely cracked the skin on both of my palms and slightly tanned them too, my palms have never been dry like this, they look awful. The development scent was much more pleasant than other tans but whilst it was developing my skin was itching like mad, especially towards the end and for 2 days afterwards as well. I've never experienced that from a gradual tan before. Then there was the depth of the 'gradual' tan itself, it's too dark and orangey as apposed to being a gradual buildable tan that mimics your own natural tan depth. I can tell you with certainty that my own tan depth has never been an orange shade in my entire life. Parts of my forearms actually looked bruised rather than tanned and it was definitely applied very evenly (I'm a grown up 36 year old woman whose been using gradual tans for the best part of 20 years! I know what I'm doing). The top part of my hand also looks shiny in a leathery way rather than a glowing way after it developed. It does develop very quickly though, I could see tan after 2 to 3 hours for sure. I applied this tan 4 days ago now and although the itching died down it's still coming and going throughout the day. Rather than waste the rest of the bottle I'm going to use my own moisturiser first, especially on my knees, elbows, ankles and wrists and definitely my palms! Since we can't go anywhere at the moment I'll try it that way and see if it stops the itching and calms the tone down too. Fingers crossed that will do the trick but I'll have some antihistamines at the ready just in case! If you're going to try this I would, at the very least deep moisturise all of the areas stated above the night before if you don't do it right before applying this product, the tone is quite deep, I definitely wouldn't need to top it up. Not the best tan I've tried by a long shot, quite disappointing for the price tag.
